Guess...
So all four images in my piece below are from games that I really love but certain parts in the game made me hate them. A lot. Ten points to anyone who can guess all four!!

the only one I can identify is meat circus from psychonauts, which really wasn't that hard. People are all just a bunch of babies

Oh c'mon! Give me some credit! I never played Bubsy 3D and you know it. I only played "Close Encounters of the Furred Kind". Babyz Dayz: Rainbow Slumber Adventurez is pretty good too. I highly recommend.

The upper-left looks like it might be Three Dirty Dwarves. No idea what the lower left is... The underwater part of TMNT for the NES? That part was pretty annoying.
Valiant efforts made by all and you got really close. The final answers are:
Upper Left: The character "Girlfriend Ogre" in Three Dirty Dwarves for the Sega Saturn.
Upper Right: The jet bike level in Battletoads for the NES. (Rumored to be unbeatable, I did actually beat this level once in college)
Lower Left: The "Down the Tubes" level in Earthworm Jim for the SNES.
Lower Right: The "Meat Circus" level in Psychonauts. Whoever invented escort missions should be punched.
